First, the students were asked to research the names and works of women composers or singers  who remained unknowndespite their talent. They presented orally some information about them to the rest of the group.

Then  they  were invited to look for famous female singers or composers who played an important part in the history of  music  and were committed to the feminist struggle or to the environmental combat through their songs or in their way of life. They focused on the second half of the 20th century up to the present.

They carried out some research on the Internet and selected a few singers and one of their significant songs.

A discussion followed, to find out if the character chosen was worth being kept or not.

Each student had to find the right arguments to convince the others. We finally agreed upon a list of 30 singers or composers. More in-depth research was then carried out by the students and they gave more information to the rest of the group.

We had to agree upon the ideal duration of each song, to make the songs possible to recognize in the blind test.

The songs were then collected and put in a digital file in order to create a "blind test" type game.

Each student also chose an artist  and created a slideshow including photos of the artist and some information about them.

The students learnt a lot about major women figures in French music and were able to discuss that with their parents or grandparents. A slideshow presenting 17 of these artists was created, as well as a "blind test" type game  to be used  during a hosting week, associating the foreign partners and the families.
