Boys and girls, in separate groups, defined and described their own vision of the concept of “woman”.

At first, students had to talk about gender differences and  elucidate them.  They were asked to  fill in  a questionnaire including a QR code. The starting point was  their opinion and the use of the dictionary of Portuguese language on the definition of the concepts of “man” and “woman”.

Then, they gave their vision of what “being a woman” means , and wrote their sentences on a piece of paper.

After that, they chose an  English song  that referred to the concept of woman, copied a part of it , and explained it to the rest of the group.

The next step was the presentation of  the results of the questionnaire reflecting the students’ vision of women.

After that, every group explained orally their vision in front of the others.

The activity ended with the songs, the students explained why  they had chosen their song, and why in their opinion, it is significant.. Finally, a sort of karaoke was organised and we sang every song together.

The students had the opportunity to debate and share their points of view. They noticed the different perspectives eachone has   of the concept of « woman ». Their debate was very interesting and very profound. They learnt more about gender andwere led to overcome stereotypes and prejudices.

And we  sang together, it was a very funny and very friendly moment that everybody really enjoyed.
