INF Karl Fazer’s chocolate factory in Vantaa Thursday

Students and teachers were divided into 2 groups, they took a guided tour of the Fazer museum. 

  The tour began with a brief history of Karl Fazer, and the line of family members that own and work at the factory, the brand being the oldest family-owned company in Finland. Students also learned about how cocoa is grown, how vanilla is harvested; they found out that 100% of the chocolate used in Fazer confections is sustainably-sourced and traceable – encapsulating Fazer’s commitment to child-free labor. 

  After that, students could play with blocks, view a 3D chocolate printer (the first of its kind), they saw areas of the factory through unique 3D viewers, bowling balls hanging from the ceiling, images related to the factories from the bakery, to the shipping facility,  the candy wrapping area, the granary and many art installation.

  Students learned a about the history of the factory, the founding members, the evolution of the products offered by this candy factory. Also, the guide told them about the attention of candy producers for the people who work there, for the diversification and adaptability of the products to the needs of the population. Attention to the use of natural products, the ecological approach to their exploitation.

  After the theoretical presentation, there was the practical part, the students could touch, smell the raw material, then taste the finished products
