The whole class involved in the Erasmus+ projects attended the performance of “Do not end up like Romeo and Juliet“ at the “Bateau feu”, a national stage in Dunkirk. It is a text written and directed by Métilde Weyergans and Samuel Hercule. In this fantastic and political fable, two worlds face each other : the city of the "visible" in which Pierre lives, and the world of the "invisible" that can only be seen if they wear a mask, that of Romy. Between the "visible" and the "invisible", there is a bridge that no one dares to cross. However, Pierre and Romy will meet and fall in love with each other with a love that defies the established order, that will shake up their prejudices and beliefs. Beyond this very original rewriting of "Romeo and Juliet", this plunge into the unknown and strangeness was an opportunity for the students to discover the cinema-spectacle genre in which theatre, cinema, sound effects and music are mixed together to tell this story, seeking to make two worlds exist that are so far away, so close. Indeed, they were able to admire how, on each side of a screen, four artists were making the soundtrack of the projected film live.

The students all attended a first performance together at the theatre in Dunkirk at the beginning of the school year, which helped to bond the class. The choice of show was made in order to introduce them to the objectives of the class and of the teaching they will follow throughout their year, in which a fundamental place is given to cultural heritage, current affairs and innovation.

Students who wished to do so were also given the opportunity to talk to the directors and actors after the performance. Link official: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBhEro4pM-E
